The 5 Step plan: | |
1.
Backwash the filter thoroughly for 3 to 4 minutes. Reset your time clock to 2 to 4 hours daily depending on your pool size and water capacity CLICK HERE to determine your pool requirements. |
2.
Reduce the Quadrachlor tablets in the Aquagenie Cannister to 3 to 4 depending on your pool size, Try to maintain a small residual chlorine level. 1/2 to 1.0 ppm is fine. You may need to experiment. |
3.
Add 1 litre of Algaecide per 40 Kl of pool water into skimmer while pool is operational. water may turn bright blue or green initially. Repeat in two month's time. and again when you restart the pool. As brands may have different instructions, read the label on the bottle and follow the instructions. |
4.
Remove the pool cover and store it for winter. It is a heat retention cover, and leaving it on during the winter months may result in a build-up of chlorine in the pool and consequent damage to the cover or liner (or both) and may harbour Algae in the bubble section. |
5.
Switch off the Heat pump or Gas Heater off at the wall |
